Civics 101: Say What?

I like to be timely. I like to be current. I like to know the latest. So, I thought I would create a test that might spur you all to be current. Recently, I was listening to part of a radio interview with Donald Rumsfeld, a former Cabinet Member of the George W. Bush administration. He was on the radio drumming up interest in his new book. During the course of the interview, he was asked a simple question regarding a major historical event that happened while he was in the power seat....the 9/11 Attack on New York and Washington DC.  The question was about his knowledge of the collapse of Building 7 during the World Trade Center attack. As you may remember, both towers of the famous Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were hit by airplanes and eventually collapsed. That day, one other building in that complex collapsed also....Building 7. It was not hit by a plane. It did have some fires, but none that were threatening the building. This building was facing nothing more, other than some major repairs needed on some floors. Yet, that building collapsed live on television and looked very much like a planned demolition. Ok, besides the Pentagon being hit, the collapse of 3 buildings in New York should have been a major enough event to trigger a memory in Donald's mind, since he was part of the administration being attacked that fateful day. Anyway, he was asked about his thoughts on the building collapsing and his answer was basically, "What are you speaking about? I am not familiar with that building...I don't know what Building 7 is."

So, at that point in the interview, I realized that some folks have a faulty knowledge base and they need to update their informations. I thought it would be nice for us all to do a little learning, and what better way to start the learning than to ask a few questions and see if you and I all know the answers.
